Travel Channel’s “Mysteries of the Unknown” returns this Monday with a trio of historical head-scratchers. Host Don Wildman presents new evidence in a series of puzzles that range from presidential health to Civil War escapes.
First up: the death of George Washington. While history books might offer a simple explanation, “Mysteries of the Unknown” takes a second look, with a hematology expert challenging conventional wisdom about what really felled the first president. Was it a simple illness, or something more… unorthodox?
Then, it’s off to a story of confronting fear in a truly unusual way. The show explores the tale of a man so determined to overcome his anxieties that he decides to be buried alive. This “tomb with a view,” as the segment calls it, certainly takes facing your fears to a new level.
Finally, “Mysteries of the Unknown” revisits a daring Civil War escape involving a Union general, a moving train, and some seriously risky rope work.
Tune in to the Travel Channel on Monday, May 26th at 8:00 PM ET for this historical deep dive.
