Mystery at Blind Frog Ranch: “The Skull” (Travel Channel, Thursday, January 30, 2025)

Reality TV can be a desolate wasteland of manufactured drama and vapid personalities. But occasionally, a show emerges that’s genuinely…well, not good, but watchable. Mystery at Blind Frog Ranch falls squarely into that category. It’s cheesy, occasionally ridiculous, but undeniably compelling. This week’s episode, “The Skull,” looks to crank up the weirdness, while also adding a dash of genuine peril.

Chad and Eric venture into the mountains and stumble upon an abandoned mine. It’s a classic setup for any good treasure-hunting show: hidden passageways, forgotten secrets, the potential for untold riches. But as they explore the depths of the mine, a sense of unease settles over them. They suspect they’re being watched, stalked by some unseen presence. Is it a wild animal, a figment of their imaginations, or something far more sinister?

Meanwhile, back at the Bead Site, the team’s digging unearths evidence of a past sacrifice. This is where the show veers into its signature blend of pseudo-archaeology and speculative history. Is it credible? Probably not. Is it entertaining? Absolutely.

Mystery at Blind Frog Ranch airs Thursdays at 10:00 PM on Travel Channel.
