“Narrow Escapes,” the Channel 4 series that takes viewers into the heart of UK canal life, continues this Tuesday with a look at the joys and challenges of life on the water. From festival planning to artistic endeavors, the episode explores the unique aspects of the close knit canal community.
In Hertfordshire, on the River Stort, Paul, Sami, and Ren are on a mission to find the perfect location for their towpath festival. But rising water levels present a problem, and their carefully laid plans are threatened. Meanwhile, near Oxford, Nigel and Sue embark on a relaxing cruise down the River Cherwell, eventually reaching the scenic Cotswolds.
Further north, in Cheshire, Emma attempts the Bunbury Shuffle on the Shropshire Union Canal. And in Derbyshire, Andy, a skilled narrowboat signwriter, starts a new project in his dry dock. “Narrow Escapes” airs Tuesday, 13 May at 4:00 PM GMT on Channel 4.
