Queens Nat Geo

Get ready for an enthralling evening of nature and wildlife as Nat Geo presents the final four episodes of the brand new series “Queens” on Monday, March 11, 2024, starting at 8.00pm.

The first episode, titled “Savanna Queens,” takes us into the heart of the African savanna. We witness the birth of a baby elephant and follow its journey within a remarkable animal sisterhood led by a matriarch. Together, they must navigate threats from predators, endure droughts, and adapt to an ever-changing world in order to protect the young elephant’s future.

Next up at 9.00pm is “Mountain Queens,” which transports us to the Ethiopian mountains. Here, a gelada monkey assumes leadership over her own sisterhood. However, with her daughter reaching adulthood, she finds herself faced with difficult choices and sacrifices that will shape her child’s destiny. Meanwhile, an Ethiopian wolf also has a daughter of her own and must ensure that her own legacy is safeguarded.

In “Coastal Queens,” at 10.00pm, we venture into the Gulf of California where an orca family relies heavily on their experienced 60-year-old matriarch for their survival and success. In contrast, on the beaches of Alaska, a first-time bear mother finds herself raising three cubs alone while relying solely on her instincts to guide them through life’s challenges.

To round off this incredible lineup is “Behind The Queens,” at 11,00pm, where cinematographers provide behind-the-scenes glimpses into the lives of these remarkable animal queens. The episode celebrates their stories while showcasing the dedicated efforts of scientists, conservationists, and activists who work tirelessly to protect these magnificent creatures in some of the wildest places on our planet.
