The search is over for NBC’s crime drama “Found.” The network has cancelled the series, meaning it won’t return for a third season. The news comes as the show’s 22-episode second season is finishing its run next week.

“Found” centered on Gabi Mosely, a public relations specialist and crisis manager played by Shanola Hampton, who leads a team dedicated to finding missing persons often ignored by law enforcement. Adding a personal twist, Gabi has a past tied to her own captor, Sir, portrayed by Mark-Paul Gosselaar. The second season raised the stakes with a storyline that saw Sir escape, threatening to expose Gabi’s closely guarded secrets. The cast also includes Kelli Williams, Brett Dalton, Gabrielle Walsh, Arlen Escarpeta, and Karan Oberoi.

Unfortunately, the second season experienced a significant ratings decline, dropping 31% in the 18-49 demographic and 28% in total viewers compared to its first season. It averaged a 0.21 rating and 2.22 million viewers. With NBC adjusting its schedule to make room for more NBA games next season, “Found” joins several other series cancelled by the network today, including “The Irrational,” “Lopez Vs Lopez,” “Night Court,” and “Suits LA.”
