NBC’s “Destination X” to Debut with Jeffrey Dean Morgan as Host

Destination X

Jeffrey Dean Morgan (“The Walking Dead,” “The Boys”) is set to host NBC’s forthcoming adventure reality competition series, “Destination X.” This will be Morgan’s first unscripted project, and he will also serve as an executive producer.

“Destination X” is an adaptive series based on a successful Belgian format, combining adventure travel and gameplay with a location-guessing challenge. Contestants traverse an unknown route, aiming to work out their locations to win.

After boarding the Destination X bus with obscured windows, participants encounter challenges that offer clues and red herrings about their whereabouts. At the end of each episode, contestants must guess their location; the individual furthest from the correct site is eliminated. The first person to accurately identify Destination X is declared the winner.

The series aims to engage viewers with its unique gameplay. “Destination X” is a collaborative production between Twofour, a part of ITV Studios, and Universal Television Alternative Studio. Executive producers include Andy Cadman, Lee Smithurst, Dan Adamson, David Clews, and Jeffrey Dean Morgan. Shireen Abbott will supervise production.

“Destination X” has gained international traction as one of the fastest-selling unscripted formats, earning multiple awards, such as a Rose d’Or for best Competition Reality. It premiered in Belgium in 2023 on VTM, consistently securing the Monday evening timeslot with a notable 42% market share among viewers aged 18-44.
