For those who find a certain fascination in the petty squabbles of others, A&E’s “Neighborhood Wars” is a reliable source of cringe-worthy entertainment. The series presents the best (or worst, depending on your perspective) of neighborly conflict, culled from cell phone videos, drone footage, and home security cameras across the country. This week’s episode, “Yolked and Provoked,” looks like a doozy.
From San Francisco, we have a man on an egg-tossing rampage, hurling accusations (and breakfast ingredients) at his unsuspecting neighbors. In Brooklyn, a woman finds herself facing cruel taunts about her fertility. Across the pond, a dog mess disagreement in England becomes the catalyst for an operatic display of profanity.
“Neighborhood Wars” isn’t all bad behavior, of course. It also captures the moments of community and support that prove there’s still some kindness to be found between neighbors, showing how increased suburban living can strain these relationships. Still, the series mainly thrives on the ridiculous and the outlandish.
“Yolked and Provoked” airs Tuesday, May 20 at 9:30 PM ET on A&E.
