The Neighborhood “Welcome to the Pickle” (CBS, Monday, February 3, 2025)

The Neighborhood

The Johnsons and Butlers face a classic sitcom dilemma in “Welcome to the Pickle”: new neighbors. It’s a tale as old as time, or at least as old as the cul-de-sac. But “The Neighborhood,” now in its seventh season, manages to find some fresh comedic ground in the familiar setup.

This week, it’s not so much the who of the new neighbors that piques the families’ interest, but the how. Their lifestyle raises eyebrows and prompts a few too many questions – the kind you ask yourself, not the newcomers directly, naturally. This sets the stage for some solid observational humor, as the long-time residents try to decipher the enigmas next door.

Meanwhile, Marty and Gemma deal with a more universal parenting challenge: finding the right pre-school. Let’s face it, is there anything more anxiety-inducing than navigating the preschool admissions process? Short answer: no.

As usual, “The Neighborhood” tackles these everyday scenarios with a mix of lighthearted humor and gentle social commentary. Will the new neighbors upend the delicate balance of the cul-de-sac? Will Marty and Gemma finally find the perfect educational haven for little Daphne? We’ll have to tune in to find out.
