Netflix Cancels “Kaos” After One Season

KAOS

Netflix has officially canceled the series “Kaos,” which premiered in August 2024 after being in development since 2018. The show presented a modern and comedic interpretation of Greek mythology, featuring a cast that included Jeff Goldblum as Zeus, alongside Janet McTeer, David Thewlis, and Rakie Ayola. Despite the creative team’s hopes for multiple seasons, the series will not continue beyond its initial run.

The cancellation was announced by actress Aurora Perrineau via Instagram, where she expressed her deep disappointment and reflected on the significance of her role in the show. Perrineau stated, “I find explaining how I’m feeling to be really difficult… I’ve also found myself proud of me, and that is something I’ve struggled with.” She highlighted the effort and talent of the entire cast and crew, noting, “We made something weird, dark, hilarious, deranged and absolutely tragic – something entirely human.”

Creator Charlie Covell had envisioned a minimum of three seasons for “Kaos,” sharing in past interviews his aspirations for the show. He had said he thought the first season worked as a stand alone but hoped for potential future seasons, “I think anything is possible… I hope that it feels satisfying as a season one in its own right, and there’s always hope for more.”
