A new Netflix documentary series will revisit the disturbing 2002 murder of Laci Peterson and the subsequent conviction of her husband, Scott Peterson, who continues to maintain his innocence.
The three-part series, titled “American Murder: Laci Peterson,” premieres globally on Netflix on August 14, 2024. It will provide a comprehensive examination of the case, which shocked the nation and dominated media headlines.
Directed by Skye Borgman, the series will include news clips, interrogation footage, and courtroom cameras to shed light on the disappearance, investigation, and trial. It will also feature interviews with key figures, including detectives, reporters, lawyers, jurors, and Amber Frey, the woman with whom Scott was living a double life at the time of Laci’s death.
Laci Peterson’s mother, Sharon Rocha, and her childhood friends will also speak out for the first time since her death, sharing their memories and the impact the crime had on their lives. They hope that by coming forward, they can help empower other women facing intimate partner violence.
