Netflix is giving sports fans an exclusive behind-the-scenes look with its new series, Starting 5, which premieres on 9 October 2024.
The 10-part series provides an in-depth and personal insight into the 2023-24 NBA season, as seen through the eyes of five notable players: Jimmy Butler of the Miami Heat, Anthony Edwards of the Minnesota Timberwolves, LeBron James and his quest to remain dominant in his 21st season, Domantas Sabonis of the Sacramento Kings, and Jayson Tatum, leader of the Boston Celtics.
Starting 5 captures the players’ on-court battles and off-court challenges, as well as their pursuit of excellence while managing injuries and striving to balance family life with their sporting legacy.
The series spotlights James’ determination to maintain his health and performance, while also documenting the swift ascent of Edwards.
Butler’s relentless motivation drives the Miami Heat forward, Sabonis displays his all-around ability with the Sacramento Kings, and Tatum guides the Boston Celtics in their bid for an 18th championship title.
