Relationships are tricky enough in the real world. Throw in the issue of having never actually met your significant other in person, and you’ve got the recipe for some serious drama. OWN’s “The Never Ever Mets” returns this Friday with an episode aptly titled “Breakups and Makeups,” and it looks like at least one couple might be throwing in the towel.
The premise, for those unfamiliar, involves couples who’ve connected online but haven’t taken the plunge into face-to-face interaction. The show throws them together in a shared living space for three weeks to see if their digital romance can survive the transition to reality. This week, that transition hits a major snag as one person decides they’ve had enough and tries to call it quits.
While one relationship teeters on the brink, the other couples aren’t exactly sailing smoothly either. An improv exercise forces them to take a hard look at the state of their unions, leading to some uncomfortable truths and difficult conversations. Luckily, a well-timed family visit offers some much-needed perspective. Or maybe just more fuel for the fire?
Tune in to OWN this Friday, May 2 at 8:00 PM ET to see which couples make it through the rough patch and which ones decide that some connections are best left online.
