CBS has revealed the 16 participants who will embark on a challenging journey through the New Zealand Alps in the new strategic high-altitude competition series, “The Summit.” The series will premiere with a sneak peek on Sunday, September 29, from 9:00-10:30 PM ET (8:30-10:00 PM PT). It will then move to its regular time slot on Wednesday, October 9, from 9:30-11:00 PM ET/PT, following “Survivor” on the CBS Television Network.
The contestants, who come from diverse backgrounds and occupations, include a Trader Joe’s employee, a trauma nurse, an Air Force service member, a stay-at-home mom, and a real estate agent, among others. These 16 strangers will face physical and mental challenges as they attempt to reach the peak of a distant mountain. Each participant carries a backpack containing an equal share of $1 million, and they must traverse the treacherous terrain within 14 days to win the cash.
The trekkers will face harsh conditions, including dangerous terrain, unforgiving Antarctic winds, and demanding challenges. They must work together to overcome these obstacles and make it to the summit. The “Mountain’s Keeper” will introduce unexpected twists and force decisions that complicate their journey. Morals and relationships will be tested as the group decides how to handle those who fall behind, knowing that failure to reach the summit in time will result in the loss of all prize money.
