New Original “NCIS” Series Set for Paramount+

NCIS

Paramount+ has announced a new series order for an exciting addition to the NCIS franchise. The upcoming spinoff will feature Cote de Pablo and Michael Weatherly reprising their beloved roles as Ziva David and Tony DiNozzo. This reunion marks their first time appearing on screen together in 10 years. De Pablo and Weatherly will also serve as executive producers, alongside John McNamara, who wrote the premiere episode and will act as showrunner.

The 10-episode spinoff, whose title is yet to be revealed, is set to start production later this year. Viewers can anticipate a thrilling story that combines love, danger, tears, and laughter. After Ziva’s supposed death and Tony leaving the NCIS team to raise their daughter, they were eventually reunited in Paris after Ziva was discovered alive. The new series picks up with Tony and Ziva now raising their daughter Tali together. When Tony’s security company comes under attack, they find themselves on the run across Europe, trying to uncover the identity of their pursuers while rediscovering trust in each other.

Weatherly and de Pablo expressed their excitement about bringing this long-awaited story to life: “The world of Tony and Ziva (and daughter Tali) promises to be an action-packed roller coaster… We also want to acknowledge and thank the fans from around the world who supported the ‘TIVA’ movement for years… This is for you!”

Showrunner John McNamara shared his enthusiasm for joining the NCIS universe: “I’m incredibly excited to step into the NCIS universe… Given that the franchise is such a global sensation… I think it’s phenomenal that CBS Studios and Paramount+ have given us the greenlight to shoot in Europe.”

NCIS holds a prominent place as one of television’s most successful franchises worldwide. During the 2022-2023 TV season alone, it garnered over 300 million viewers across all platforms. Since its launch on Paramount+, the NCIS franchise has consistently ranked among the top-five franchises on the streaming service in terms of hours consumed. In spring 2024, NCIS will celebrate its landmark 1,000th episode.
