ABC News

ABC News’ Nightline secured the top spot in total viewers for the week of February 24, 2025, outperforming both CBS’s After Midnight and NBC’s Late Night with Seth Meyers. The show also saw significant audience growth compared to the previous week.

Here’s the Lowdown: Nightline drew in 772,000 total viewers, according to Nielsen Media Research, surpassing its competition. What This Means Now: Nightline is showing strong viewership momentum, growing its audience and beating out its direct competitors in the late-night time slot. It also had an improvement compared to this time last year.

The Bigger Picture: This week’s Nightline featured segments including 2025 Oscar buzz, a look at the investigation of Gene Hackman and his wife’s death, a look back at Christopher Reeve, Will Reeve, Robert Pattinson, Toni Collette, Karen Read, Michelle Trachtenberg, Karen Huger, and Kate Hudson, plus a special on “Surviving Slender Man.”. The show, anchored by Juju Chang and Byron Pitts, airs weeknights at 12:35 a.m. EST on ABC. Note though, that the ratings of CBS’s After Midnight was based on four days and NBC’s Seth Meyers was a titled repeat.
