Nine Lands Exclusive Deal to Sell Ads on Warner Bros. Discovery’s Max in Australia

Australian TV News

Nine has secured an exclusive partnership with Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) to handle all advertising sales for the Max streaming service in Australia. This deal makes Nine the sole advertising representative for Max’s ad-supported tier. Max will launch in Australia on March 31.

Here’s the Lowdown: Max, launching March 31, will be the streaming home for WBD’s premium content, including HBO and Max Originals (like The Last of Us and The White Lotus), Warner Bros. films, and reality shows from Discovery, HGTV, and ID. Nine’s sales team will exclusively manage the advertising for Max’s “Basic With Ads” subscription level.

What This Means Now: This represents a big move for Nine, expanding its digital video offerings and giving advertisers a streamlined way to reach audiences across multiple platforms. Nine’s technology will be used to maximize the effectiveness of ads on Max.

The Bigger Picture: This partnership combines Nine’s local market expertise and sales infrastructure with WBD’s world-class content and global advertising platform. This allows Nine to give a substantial boost to its premium revenue strategy. By combining Max with 9Now and Stan Sport, Nine can now offer advertisers access to a large audience across both subscription (SVOD) and broadcast (BVOD) video services.
