So, “North of North” is taking a swing at a time jump. Six weeks, to be exact. In the upcoming fifth episode, aptly titled “Walrus Dick Baseball,” we’re catapulting into Arctic spring, which, apparently, involves a baseball showdown of epic, not-so-friendly proportions.
The residents of North of North are gearing up to face their rivals from Ice Cove. One can only imagine the type of shenanigans a game called “Walrus Dick Baseball” might entail, but given this show’s penchant for the quirky, it’s safe to assume it won’t be your standard seventh-inning stretch.
Of course, life in North of North isn’t all fun and games (and oddly named sporting events). The last we saw Siaja, she’d made a rather public and dramatic romantic decision. This time jump will likely give us a look at the fallout, because let’s face it, small-town drama tends to linger like the smell of fish on a hot summer day (even in the Arctic).
This fifth installment continues the adventures of Siaja, a young Inuk mother trying to figure things out in a town that seems to specialize in the unexpected.
“North of North” airs Tuesdays on CBC Gem. Don’t miss “Walrus Dick Baseball” on Tuesday, January 28, 2025.
