A Novel Christmas UPtv Movie Premiere Sunday, December 15

A Novel Christmas Key Art

So, another Christmas movie. Big surprise. But wait, this one’s called A Novel Christmas, and it’s on UPtv, which means we’re in for a certain brand of heartwarming, family-friendly holiday cheer. Will it be novel? Probably not. Will it be Christmas-y? Undeniably.

Alys Crocker stars as Chloe Anderson, a successful children’s book author facing the dreaded writer’s block. Seeking inspiration (and perhaps a little familial support during the holidays), she heads to the perfectly named Noelville. There, amongst twinkling lights and the scent of gingerbread, she encounters Ethan (Landy Cannon), a hunky bookstore owner and single dad. Because what’s a Christmas movie without a hunky single dad? And what’s a hunky single dad without an adorable moppet of a daughter who just happens to be a huge fan of Chloe’s work? Enter Alex (Brigitte Kingsley), stage left, ready to melt even the most cynical heart.

Naturally, sparks fly between Chloe and Ethan. Chloe, grappling with some undisclosed past sadness (because, again, Christmas movie), rediscovers her festive spirit amidst the charm of Noelville and the warmth of Ethan’s affections. Simultaneously, she struggles to pen her first novel, a task that becomes increasingly intertwined with her burgeoning romance and newfound connection to this quaint town and its inhabitants.

A Novel Christmas hits many of the familiar holiday movie tropes: charming small town, attractive leads, a dash of emotional baggage, and a healthy dose of Christmas magic. It’s a safe bet for anyone looking for an undemanding, feel-good story to accompany their cocoa and Christmas cookies.

A Novel Christmas airs Sunday, December 15th at 7:00 PM on UPtv.
