This year’s Olivier Award performances have been revealed. The ceremony, presented by Hannah Waddingham, will take place at London’s Royal Albert Hall on April 2.
The Band’s Visit, Standing At The Sky’s Edge, Sylvia, and Tammy Faye, all nominated for Mastercard Best New Musical, will all perform. Oklahoma! by Rodgers and Hammerstein and Sister Act by Stephen Sondheim, both up for Magic Radio’s Best Musical Revival, will also be presented.
Disney’s Newsies, whose choreographer Matt Cole is up for the Gillian Lynne Award for Best Theatre Choreographer, will also be featured, as will a special performance of The Book of Mormon, recipient of multiple Olivier Awards, to commemorate the show’s tenth anniversary on the West End. Grease the Musical will be performed in memory of the evening’s Special Award winner, Dame Arlene Phillips.
The collaboration between the Olivier Awards and ITV will continue with a highlights show airing the same night on ITV1 and ITVX at 10:15 p.m. Starting at 6 p.m., the entire ceremony, held at the Royal Albert Hall, will be aired live on Magic Radio, the Official Radio Partner, with hosts Ruthie Henshall and Alice Arnold.
Hannah Lowther (Heathers, Snow White: Pantomime, SpongeBob: The Musical), a theatre performer and content creator, will present a TikTok live stream from the Green Carpet. Foreign audiences can watch the show beginning at 6 p.m. BST on the Official London Theatre feed.
