One Night in Idaho Prime Video Docuseries Examines 2022 College Murders

One Night in Idaho Key Art

Prime Video will premiere One Night in Idaho: The College Murders on Thursday, July 11, 2025. The four-part docuseries investigates the killings of four University of Idaho students in November 2022, a case that drew national attention and remains one of the most widely discussed campus tragedies in recent history.

Directed by Liz Garbus and Matthew Galkin, the series includes interviews with family members, friends, and key figures directly affected by the murders. Among them are the parents of Ethan Chapin and Madison Mogen, speaking publicly as part of the project.

One Night in Idaho recounts events surrounding the stabbings of Chapin, Mogen, KXana Kernodle, and Kaylee Goncalves, all found dead in a rented off-campus home. It also examines the national media response, widespread online speculation, and the months-long investigation that led to the arrest of Bryan Kohberger, now awaiting trial.

The series includes previously unaired material and newly conducted interviews, set against a timeline of developments that ran from the early hours of November 13, 2022, through to the arrest in December and the ongoing pre-trial proceedings. The production avoids reenactments, instead using raw footage, recorded calls, and first-person accounts to reconstruct the case.
