Orphan Black: Echoes Premieres Sunday, June 23 on AMC & BBC America

Orphan Black: Echoes, the spin-off to the critically acclaimed sci-fi thriller Orphan Black, is set to premiere on Sunday 23rd June 2024 on AMC, AMC+, and BBC America. The series will also be available to stream on ITVX in the UK.

Created by Anna Fishko and set in the same clone-filled universe as Orphan Black, the new show explores the impact of scientific manipulation on the existence of a new group of women. Following in the footsteps of its predecessor, Echoes promises a gripping journey as the characters embark on a thrilling quest to uncover the mystery behind their identities.

Taking centre stage in the trailer is Krysten Ritter’s Lucy, a disoriented woman who awakens to an unfamiliar reality, struggling with memory loss and a mysterious procedure. Ritter, who rose to fame as the titular superhero in Jessica Jones, leads an impressive cast that includes Keeley Hawes (Bodyguard), Amanda Fix (High School), Avan Jogia (Now Apocalypse), Rya Kihlstedt (A Teacher), and James Hiroyuki Liao (Barry).

The series explores the ethical dilemmas surrounding scientific advancement, continuing the thought-provoking tradition of the original show.

While the trailer offers only a glimpse of the narrative, fans can expect the same captivating storytelling and intricate plotting that made Orphan Black a cult phenomenon. With a premise centred on memory and identity, the show promises to engage viewers and encourage intense speculation.

The ten-episode season, which completed filming in January 2023, sees the return of several familiar faces from the original series in new roles.
