Osher Günsberg is trading cue cards for choreography.
The longtime TV host—whose credits span Australian Idol, The Bachelor, and The Masked Singer—is set to compete on the upcoming season of Dancing With The Stars, joining Channel 7’s 2025 line-up of celebrity contenders aiming to tango their way to the top.
Günsberg’s move from host to contestant marks a notable pivot for one of Australia’s most familiar small-screen faces, injecting a dose of seasoned showbiz savvy into the format. His casting adds marquee value to a line-up already stacked with reality vets, Olympians, and household names.
He joins a roster that includes Bachelor alum Brittany Hockley, comedian Felicity Ward, Olympic boxer Harry Garside, and actor Rebecca Gibney. Also headed to the dance floor: journalist Karina Carvalho, Home and Away’s Kyle Shilling, Mia Fevola, news anchor Michael Usher, comedy mainstay Shaun Micallef, swimmer Susie O’Neill, and AFL great Trent Cotchin.
Produced by BBC Studios ANZ, the series continues its long-running partnership with Channel 7 and will stream concurrently on 7plus. The format—licensed from the BBC—remains one of the few tentpole franchises still capable of drawing live audiences in primetime.
For Günsberg, it’s a return to competition TV—but with the spotlight squarely on him this time. While he’s no stranger to live performance and audience engagement, ballroom dancing presents a new kind of high-wire act.
No premiere date yet, but Dancing With The Stars is listed as “coming soon.”
