Matt Baker returns to Channel 4 this Saturday with the second series of “National Trust: Our Dream Farm.” The search for new tenants to take over the Wallington Estate farm is back on, and the competition is fierce. In this first episode, the hopeful farmers arrive at the farm, ready to prove they have what it takes to manage this historic property.
Their first challenge involves a skill essential to any sheep farmer: sheepdog handling. With a flock of over 130 sheep to gather, the applicants will need to demonstrate their herding prowess. It’s a test of patience, communication, and, let’s face it, a bit of luck.
The stakes are high. The applicant who impresses Matt, Giles, and Trystan the most will be appointed temporary farm manager, complete with an overnight stay in the farmhouse and full responsibility for the livestock. But don’t expect smooth sailing. Day two brings the task of sorting the flock, a process that goes hilariously awry as the sheep prove less cooperative than anticipated.
“Our Dream Farm” offers a charming blend of rural life, competition, and the occasional dose of farmyard chaos. Tune in to Channel 4 on Saturday at 7:00 PM to see who will rise to the challenge.
