OWN has set the premiere dates for its seventh annual “OWN For the Holidays” programming event. The network will debut three new movies over consecutive Saturdays, beginning November 29. The 2025 slate features a mix of established stars and rising talent, including Kiki Layne, Loretta Devine, Tristan Mack Wilds, and Amber Stevens West.
The event kicks off on November 29 with Fake Yourself a Merry Little Christmas. The film stars Layne, known for her role in the action film The Old Guard, as a professor named Maya. After she lies about being in a relationship with a man in a coma, she becomes entangled with his family and develops a connection with her ex, played by Etienne Maurice, who is the unconscious man’s doctor.
On December 6, The Christmas Showdown will reunite Run the World co-stars Stevens West and Corbin Reid. They play former best friends whose relationship fractured when one moved to Paris. Now back home and both unemployed, they find themselves competing for the same event producer job, with their work being judged by a character played by Devine. The cast also includes Obba Babatundé and Carla Renata.
The final movie, Very Merry Mystery, premieres December 13 and puts a criminal investigation at the center of its holiday story. Ashleigh Murray (The Other Black Girl) is cast as Bea, a popular local hairstylist. When she attends a murder mystery party where the host genuinely vanishes, she teams up with her detective boyfriend, played by Wilds (Swagger), to find out what happened. All three films are produced for OWN by FOX Entertainment Studios.
