Oxygen’s new true crime series, “A Plan to Kill,” dissects the chilling psychology of murderers who meticulously plot their crimes. The 10-episode season, premiering October 27th, examines cases where individuals spent considerable time orchestrating the demise of their victims. Through interviews with investigators and the victims’ families, the series provides a grim look into the motivations and methods of these killers.
The premiere episode, “Love, Death, and Obsession in Hollywood,” focuses on the 2020 murder of Amie Harwick, a prominent Los Angeles sex therapist and former fiancée of Drew Carey. The episode details the investigation, including evidence like bloodstains and broken glass, that ultimately led to the conviction of her ex-boyfriend, Gareth Pursehouse.
“A Plan to Kill” explores a range of cases, from a mail carrier ambushed on his route and a firefighter murdered in his driveway, to a double homicide involving a military veteran and his friend, and a hairstylist targeted through a dating app. The series also features the story of an 11-year-old boy seeking justice for his mother and a case involving a white supremacist accused of murdering a family of three.
“A Plan to Kill” is produced by The Intellectual Property Corporation (IPC), a subsidiary of Sony Pictures Television. Eli Holzman and Aaron Saidman of IPC serve as executive producers, alongside showrunner Myles Reiff.
