Oxygen True Crime adds another series to its burgeoning lineup of investigative programs, this time turning its attention to the chilling tales of serial killers who managed to fly under the radar. “Unknown Serial Killers of America” premieres Sunday, May 18th at 7:00 PM ET/PT, exploring the stories of murderers whose horrific acts evaded widespread attention.

Each hour-long episode features a different case, piecing together the crimes, the investigations, and the factors that allowed these killers to remain in the shadows for so long. The series includes interviews with law enforcement personnel who worked the cases. “Unknown Serial Killers of America” also presents the stories of victims’ families, providing a poignant reminder of the human cost of these crimes.

The six-episode season tackles a range of disturbing cases. The premiere, airing May 18th, focuses on Carl Watts, a prolific slasher whose confessions included an astounding and stomach-churning 100 victims. Subsequent episodes feature cases such as the hunt for a killer targeting sex workers in Riverside, California (“William Suff,” airing May 25th), and the investigation into bodies discovered on Florida hog trails (“Daniel Conahan,” airing June 1st). The series will also examine the discovery of unidentified bodies found in barrels and the murders of multiple gay men and twelve black women.
