Painkiller: The Tylenol Murders Premieres October 10 on Paramount+

Paramount+ has announced the upcoming premiere of the docuseries “PAINKILLER: THE TYLENOL MURDERS” on Tuesday, October 10. This five-part series delves into the infamous case from 1982 where seven people tragically lost their lives after ingesting Tylenol capsules laced with cyanide. The victims, which included a child and three members of the same family, sparked widespread panic and launched a massive investigation to find the person responsible.
“PAINKILLER” takes viewers back to the chaotic time of the murders as it explores the unsolved crimes and the extensive search for answers. The series focuses on James Lewis, a key suspect in the case, and unravels the dark mystery surrounding the events. It sheds light on the missteps made by the police during the investigation and delves into the madness that consumed Lewis for over four decades. The series also examines other crimes attributed to Lewis, such as extortion, dismemberment, and another murder. As time has passed, advancements in technology have raised the possibility of DNA evidence finally bringing the killer to justice.
The docuseries is produced by WBBM Films/CBS Chicago for See It Now Studios. The executive producers for WBBM are Jeff Harris, while Samah Assad, Rebecca McCann, and Kara Olney serve as supervising producers. Susan Zirinsky and Terence Wrong are the executive producers for See It Now Studios, with Aysu Saliba and Cara Tortora as supervising producers.
