The trailer for the second season of Last King of the Cross, an original series from Paramount+ Australia, has been released, with the first two episodes debuting on the platform on Friday, 30 August. The series follows John Ibrahim’s (Lincoln Younes) pursuit of Oxford Street’s late-night empire.
The new season sees John returning to Sydney after fleeing to Ibiza, only to find that the city has changed during his absence. His younger brothers, Fadi (Alex Kaan) and Michael (Dave Hoey), have come of age, while his older brother, Sam (Claude Jabbour), remains in prison, amassing a following as he attempts to establish a Black Flags chapter.
As Kings Cross fades into obscurity following the Royal Commission, John discovers the vibrant and ecstasy-fuelled world of Oxford Street, the new epicentre of Sydney’s nightlife. He sets his sights on claiming his stake in this new domain, but nightclub owner Ray Kinnock (Naveen Andrews) stands in his way, utilizing his well-connected resources to challenge John’s ambitions. Meanwhile, Dean Taylor (Luke Arnold) and Benny Vasquez (Matuse) emerge as unexpected threats.
Senior Sergeant Elizabeth Doyle (Tess Haubrich) closely monitors John’s every move, and with his brothers creating chaos, John’s distinct worlds of business, family, and crime are set to collide in a dramatic and explosive eight-episode season.
Last King of the Cross is produced by HELIUM Pictures for Paramount+ Australia, with Cineflix Rights holding international distribution rights. The series has received significant investment from Paramount Australia and Screen Australia, with additional support from Screen NSW through the Made in NSW fund and Fulcrum Media Finance.
