In the latest episode of Parish, tensions escalate as Gray Parish finds himself cornered, testing his allegiance to Horse in ways he never imagined. The episode, “Sanctuary“, airing on AMC on Sunday, April 14, follows Gray Parish, played by Giancarlo Esposito, is a former criminal who has tried to leave his past behind and start a new life as a family man.

However, when his son is violently murdered, he finds himself drawn back into the criminal underworld. In the previous episodes, Gray’s life takes a tumultuous turn as he becomes entangled with the Tongai family, a Zimbabwean crime syndicate.

The series, created by Danny Brocklehurst and Sunu Gonera, is based on the three part BBC One series “The Driver”. It premiered on March 31, 2024, and has received mixed reviews, with a rating of 26% on Rotten Tomatoes and a score of 53 on Metacritic. Despite this, Giancarlo Esposito’s performance as Gray Parish has been widely praised, his intense and nuanced portrayal of a man haunted by his past is definitely the show stand out.
