Fans of “Parks and Recreation” might want to pay attention. Creator Mike Schur and star Amy Poehler are teaming up again for a new comedy series over at Peacock called “Dig.” It’s the first time Schur has worked with Poehler on a TV project since “Parks and Rec” wrapped up, which is reason enough to get a little excited.
Poehler isn’t just starring in this one; she’s also co-writing the first episode with Schur. The show itself is based on the novel “Excavations” by Kate Myers.
The setup for “Dig” sounds like a mix of laughs and maybe a bit of mystery. It centers on four women who are on an archeological dig in Greece. As they’re sifting through the dirt and history, they stumble upon a secret. And this isn’t just any secret – finding it leads them right into the middle of an international conspiracy.
Beyond Schur and Poehler, producers include J.J. Philbin, Morgan Sackett, Dave Becky, and David Miner. Kate Myers, who wrote the book, will also be a co-executive producer. Several production companies are involved, like Universal Television, Fremulon, Paper Kite Productions, 3 Arts Entertainment, and Ocean Avenue Entertainment.
