Hallmark is packing its bags and heading to Spain this Saturday with the premiere of To Barcelona, With Love. Airing at 8 PM ET as part of the network’s “Passport to Love” series, the film follows Erica, an American expat living in Barcelona who translates novels and yearns to be a published author herself.
Erica’s quiet life gets a jolt of romantic potential—and hidden complications—with the arrival of Anna, the American author whose popular book Erica translated. As the two women become friends, Erica’s long-held secret about altering Anna’s translation threatens to surface, putting her relationships—both professional and personal—at risk.
Adding another twist to the plot is Nico, a local bookstore owner whom Erica has been crushing on. When Anna catches Nico’s eye, Erica’s romantic aspirations take a detour. While the film’s plot hints at a classic love triangle, the focus here seems to be on self-discovery and second chances—a familiar theme for Hallmark’s romance-driven audience.
