Peacock Greenlights “Superfakes,” Crime Drama from A24 and UCP

Peacock has announced the series pickup of “Superfakes,” a new crime drama co-produced by A24 and UCP, a division of Universal Studio Group. The series will be helmed by Alice Ju, who will serve as showrunner, writer, and executive producer. Ju’s previous credits include work on “Poker Face” and “Beef.”

“Superfakes” is a crime drama series that centers on a small-time luxury counterfeit dealer operating in Chinatown. The narrative will follow the character’s entry into a hazardous black market in order to secure financial stability for her family.

Executive producing alongside Ju are Josh and Benny Safdie (“The Curse,” “Uncut Gems”), Howard Klein (“The Office,” “Parks and Recreation”) and Olivia Gerke (“Fantasmas”) for 3 Arts, Ronald Bronstein, and Eli Bush.

The series will be a collaboration between A24 and UCP, with production details and a release date to be announced at a later time.
