Peacock is diving headfirst into the influencer talent pool, announcing four new original series set to premiere Monday, May 19, 2025. Forget the traditional Hollywood pipeline; these shows come straight from the social media sphere, courtesy of NBCUniversal’s Creator Accelerator Program. The program aims to give emerging artists the tools and support they need to make the leap from online buzz to streaming success, providing resources, mentorship, and production expertise.
So, who are these fresh faces? Charlie Curtis-Beard brings us “The Warehouse Phase,” a dramedy about a musician trying to figure out the treacherous influencer world after the notorious death of a famous rapper. Then there’s Katie Florence, starring in “The Kouncil,” a show about coping with the trials and tribulations of adulthood with the help of, well, her inner council. Erika Priscilla also stars.
Next up, Serena Kerrigan hits the road in “Older Hotter Wiser,” a comedy about – you guessed it – a road trip to Los Angeles. Felix Levine costars. And finally, Daren Vongirdner tackles therapy and life’s everyday struggles in the dramedy “People Like Me,” a series featuring integration with BetterHelp, putting a spotlight on mental health resources.
It’s a bold move by Peacock, banking on the built-in audiences these creators bring. With the US Army providing contextual media support for the Emerging Artist Series, these shows have a hefty promotional push behind them. Will these social media stars translate their online followings into streaming hits? We’ll find out soon enough.
