Channel 4 has set production in motion on Pierre, a six-part legal thriller headlined by David Harewood and backed by a heavyweight creative team including Roy Williams OBE and John Donnelly on script.

Directed by Sarmad Masud (You Don’t Know Me), the drama centers on Harewood’s Pierre Jackson, a duty solicitor pulled into dangerous territory after the suspicious death of a young Black client, Michael, while in police custody. What starts as a search for justice spirals into a broader exposure of institutional rot.

Filming is underway in West London, with Michele Austin co-starring as Pierre’s law partner Charlotte Manners and Jason Flemyng playing DS Ronnie Miller—Pierre’s best friend and a copper with conflicted loyalties.

Rounding out the ensemble are Dean-Charles Chapman, Nikkita Chadha, Christopher Fairbank, Sara Powell, and Cherrelle Skeete. Newcomers Dylan Ennis and Ezrae Maye will make their TV debuts in the series.

The project is produced by The Lighthouse, with Jo Johnson producing and Hilary Salmon on board as EP. Gwawr Lloyd commissions for Channel 4, framing the series as a high-stakes, character-driven drama that blends procedural mechanics with sharp social commentary.

No premiere date has been set, but expect Pierre to join Channel 4’s late 2025 or early 2026 scripted slate.
