Pilgrimage: The Road Through the Alps (BBC Two, Sunday, April 20, 2025)

Pilgrimage the Road Through the Alps Key Art

BBC Two’s “Pilgrimage” returns, sending a new group of seven celebrities on a spiritual trek. This season, the path leads to the Austrian Camino, a revived medieval Catholic route winding through stunning Alpine scenery. Beginning just outside Innsbruck, the group will travel on foot and by bus, facing both physical and emotional challenges as they make their way to Einsiedeln Abbey in the Swiss Alps foothills.

The celebrities, representing a range of faiths and beliefs, begin their travels in the village of Inzing. Their journey takes them through the picturesque Inn Valley, past charming Alpine villages, and over the arduous Arlberg pass, the highest point on the Camino. Along the way, they’ll visit the Cistercian Monastery of Stams, a place of historical and spiritual significance.

“Pilgrimage” isn’t about converting anyone; it’s about exploring the common threads that connect different belief systems. It’s about shared experiences, personal growth, and the search for meaning that underlies many spiritual traditions. As the celebrities bond over blisters and breathtaking views, they’re bound to uncover some truths about themselves and the world around them. Will their beliefs be challenged? Will their perspectives shift? The answers are set to unfold on BBC Two, Sunday, April 20th at 9:00 PM GMT.
