Finance officer Ushma, from Leicester, dreams of owning a holiday home in Spain’s sun-kissed Costa Almería. There’s just one small catch: she’s never actually been there. Armed with a budget of £67,000 and a wish list that includes a spacious two-bed apartment near a beach with pool access, Ushma enlists the help of “A Place in the Sun” to turn her Spanish fantasy into a reality.
Host Ben Hillman sets out to find five properties that meet Ushma’s criteria, ranging from a ground-floor apartment to a countryside complex complete with a solarium. As Ushma explores the options, viewers get a glimpse of the Costa Almería’s stunning coastline, a landscape that once inspired John Lennon, who reportedly penned “Strawberry Fields Forever” there in 1966.
