Alexander Armstrong and Richard Osman present another celebrity edition of the general knowledge quiz, Pointless Celebrities. In this show, airing on Saturday 27 April on BBC One, four teams attempt to come up with the answers that no one else could think of.
The celebrities competing for the Pointless trophy include Gavin Ramjaun, Sally Magnusson, Pete Wicks, Vicky Pattison, Jay Rayner, Thomasina Miers OBE, Remel London, and London Hughes.
Each episode of Pointless follows a set format: four teams of two contestants answer general knowledge questions, aiming for correct but obscure responses. The unique scoring system rewards teams for providing correct answers that were given by the fewest people in a previously conducted public survey.
The game begins with two elimination rounds, where teams aim for the lowest scores, and the two remaining teams then face off in a head-to-head round. The winning team advances to the final, where they have the chance to win the jackpot by providing three “pointless” answers to a single question.
Pointless debuted on BBC Two in 2009 and moved to BBC One in 2011. Pointless Celebrities, an offshoot of the main show, first aired in 2011 and has since become a regular series running alongside it. Celebrities play for their chosen charities and can appear on the show more than once. The hosts, Alexander Armstrong and Richard Osman, have been a part of the show since its inception, with Osman stepping down from the main show in 2022 to focus on his writing.
