Peacock’s ‘Poker Face’ has lined up a stellar trio of guest stars for its second season. John Mulaney, Ego Nwodim, and Sam Richardson are the latest additions to the show’s expanding ensemble. Specifics about their roles are currently being kept under wraps.
These new names join an already impressive guest cast that includes Giancarlo Esposito, Katie Holmes, Gaby Hoffmann, Kumail Nanjiani, Sherry Cola, Kevin Corrigan, Ben Marshall, Kathrine Narducci, Cynthia Erivo, BJ Novak, and Margo Martindale.
From creator Rian Johnson, ‘Poker Face’ revolves around Natasha Lyonne’s Charlie, a human lie detector who travels across the country in her Plymouth Barracuda, encountering a new cast of characters and solving bizarre crimes at every stop. The show’s format harkens back to classic mystery-of-the-week series but adds a modern twist with Lyonne’s distinctive flair.
The first season of ‘Poker Face’ has already made its mark, garnering four Emmy nominations and winning one for Judith Light, who delivered a memorable performance in the fifth episode. The show’s blend of sharp writing, compelling characters, and episodic mysteries has resonated with both critics and audiences.
Season 2 sees Tony Tost stepping in as showrunner and executive producer, alongside Johnson, Lyonne, Ram Bergman, Nena Rodrigue, Adam Arkin, Nora Zuckerman, and Lilla Zuckerman. Produced by T-Street and MRC, with Lyonne’s Animal Pictures also in the mix, ‘Poker Face’ is Johnson and Bergman’s first foray into television.
