Right, then. Another Monday, another dose of vehicular mayhem and petty crime courtesy of Police Interceptors. This week’s installment isn’t exactly reinventing the wheel, but if you’re after a quick fix of flashing lights and questionable life choices, Channel 5 has you covered.
First up, we have a driver who apparently has some loose acquaintances in the firearms trade. Said driver, not exactly a master strategist, decides ramming police vehicles is a sound escape plan. Spoiler alert: it isn’t. Cue the taser, and add another feathered friend to the Interceptors rogue’s gallery.
Meanwhile, the Firearms team is off to the races, pursuing a BMW allegedly involved in the kidnapping of a 17-year-old. Machetes are mentioned, which always adds a certain zest to proceedings.
Back at the station, it’s a battle of wits (or lack thereof) as the Knife Crime team squares off against a repeat offender whose hiding spot of choice is, shall we say, unconventional. Underwear, folks. It’s always underwear. At this point, it’s practically a Police Interceptors tradition.
And finally, what’s a good episode without a high-speed chase? Officer Kingo takes center stage, pursuing a motorbike clocking in at a frankly ludicrous 160 mph. Simultaneously, Officer Matt engages in a thrilling game of cat-and-mouse with a suspect who wants £88 for a drug test. One wonders if receipts are provided.
So, there you have it. Kidnapping, high-speed pursuits, and the ever-popular “drugs in the underwear” gambit. It’s not exactly The Wire, but it’ll do in a pinch. Tune in to Channel 5 on Monday, December 2, to witness the action unfold.
Police Interceptors airs Mondays at 8pm on Channel 5.
