The season 23 premiere of Police Interceptors on Channel 5 takes viewers on a high-octane ride with Northamptonshire Police’s elite crime-fighting units. The episode, airing on Monday, grants viewers unrestricted access to the force’s Roads Policing Team, Dog Unit and Armed Response Unit.
The first all-action episode features interceptor Bertie tailing a failing-to-stop driver speeding at over 100 mph. As the pursuit intensifies and the roads narrow, the situation takes a dramatic turn when the suspect loses control and flips their car onto its roof. Meanwhile, in Kettering, Harrison embarks on a solo mission to confront a wanted man, leading to a foot chase and the deployment of his taser.
The Northamptonshire Police also target illegal cannabis operations, with Leigh Goodwin revisiting two industrial-sized cannabis grows and raiding another nearby cannabis factory. The episode also sees the interceptors pulling over two individuals returning from Bournemouth, uncovering a stash of magic mushrooms, weed, and suspected cocaine.
The episode also includes an incident with a drunk driver in a Jaguar who blows over twice the legal limit and offers Rob unsolicited driving advice. And finally, Michael Hollowell confronts a masked man on a pimped-up electric bike, only to discover he is also a wanted individual.
Police Interceptors Season 23 Premiere airs Monday, 2 September 2024, at 8:00 pm on Channel 5.
