Bermuda, with its turquoise waters and pink sand beaches, might seem like the ultimate escape from the everyday grind. But even in paradise, there’s work to be done – and as BBC One’s “Policing Paradise” shows us, it’s not always smooth sailing.
This Tuesday’s episode features a mix of hilarious mishaps and tense situations. Officers Eddie Smith and Jen Ysseldyke find themselves in a predicament after dealing with an illegally parked car – accidentally locking themselves inside Cooper’s Island Nature Reserve. Meanwhile, officers Justin Hunt and Moya O’Gilvie-Milwood investigate a suspected stolen moped and later intervene in a heated neighborly dispute.
The episode also follows British police reservist Hugo Benziger and his colleagues in the coastguard as they undergo crucial scuba-diving exercises, including the recovery of a fake dead body, showing the specialized training needed to deal with serious incidents at sea. New recruit Gaby is also featured as she begins training to potentially join the elite scuba team.
From the tranquil nature reserve to a less affluent part of town, and even a glimpse of the exclusive Tucker’s Town, home to the rich and famous, the series continues to capture the many faces of Bermuda and the diverse challenges faced by its police force. Tune in to BBC One at 2:00 PM to see how it all unfolds.
