Port Protection Alaska: Burn It All (National Geographic, Tuesday, May 20, 2025)

Life in Port Protection, Alaska, is defined by self-reliance and a constant awareness of the elements. In this remote community of about 100 souls, there are no roads, no government, and no law enforcement. Just the vast Alaskan wilderness and the challenges it presents. In Tuesday’s episode of “Port Protection Alaska,” titled “Burn It All,” those challenges take on a terrifying new form for resident Sam.

In an attempt to quiet his noisy generators, Sam accidentally starts a fire that quickly threatens to consume his home. With limited resources and the nearest help miles away, Sam faces a desperate fight to save everything he’s built. The episode looks like it will be a stark illustration of the precarious existence faced by the residents of Port Protection, where even the smallest mistake can have devastating consequences.
