Life in Port Protection, Alaska, is a constant test of self-sufficiency. The residents of this remote community, numbering around 100 souls, live off the grid, relying on their own skills and the support of their neighbors to survive. In this Tuesday’s episode of “Port Protection Alaska,” titled “Natural Selection,” the balance between independence and teamwork is put to the test once more.
Breanna, eager to prove her hunting prowess, sets off alone on a deer hunt, embracing the solitary challenge of the Alaskan wilderness. Elsewhere, Terry demonstrates the communal spirit of Port Protection by lending a helping hand to Troy and Sarah. And when Veronica faces a parking predicament, it’s Squibb who steps in to resolve the issue, highlighting the intricate ways in which this small community functions. For these residents, the risks of their isolated lifestyle are outweighed by the deep reward of community.
“Natural Selection” airs Tuesday, May 6 at 9:00 PM ET on National Geographic.
