Postcards on Channel 9

Channel 9’s “Postcards” continues its journey through Victoria this Sunday, offering viewers a curated look at some of Melbourne’s most appealing neighborhoods. This week, comedian and radio presenter Nick Cody takes the reins as guest host, giving us a tour of his own stomping grounds, Ascot Vale (Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung Country).

Cody’s personal connection to Ascot Vale shines through as he guides us through local favorites. Expect stops at Little Byrd café, Luke’s Banh Mi bakery, and a visit to the always popular watering hole The Union Hotel.

But Ascot Vale isn’t the only destination on this week’s itinerary. Brodie Harper takes us to the artistic and refined streets of Kew (also Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung Country), where she checks out the Anniversary Trail, enjoys a meal at the popular Briquettes café, visits the Lyon Housemuseum, and Barry’s Garage.

Meanwhile, Madeline Spark soaks up the lively atmosphere of South Melbourne (Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung Country and Bunurong Country). Her stops include Cheri Eatery, pickleball action at The Jar, and a delicious meal at Lucia restaurant.

And finally, Livinia Nixon heads to Narre Warren (Bunurong Country), discovering the hidden gems of this southeastern suburb. Nixon will visit the Fig & Fern café, check out Bunjil Place and its current exhibition, Floribunda (in partnership with the NGV), and enjoy a sample of the menu at Butler’s Kitchen.
