Prime Video has announced a new competitive baking show with a twist, Killer Cakes. The two-part special will debut exclusively on Prime Video in over 240 countries and territories on Thursday, 8 October.
This horror-themed baking competition is a collaboration between Blumhouse Television and High Noon Entertainment, the creators of Cake Boss. It challenges skilled bakers to undertake frightening tasks, creating disturbingly realistic and horrifying cakes.
In Killer Cakes, contestants will work alongside Hollywood’s best horror special effects artists, unleashing their dark imaginations to craft disgusting and disturbing creations. The show is hosted by horror veteran Matthew Lillard, known for his roles in Scream and Five Nights at Freddy’s, and features expert judges Danielle Harris, a “scream queen” from the Halloween franchise, and experimental food artist and cookbook author Nikk Alcaraz.
The contestants include Amanda Yother, Dillon Barlow, Dziedra “Z” Brusberg, Deadra “Dee” Compean, Eszter Summerlin, Jesse Lesser, Mark Lie, and Shanelle Long.
Killer Cakes is executive produced by Jason Blum and Gretchen Palek of Blumhouse Television, and Scott Feely of High Noon Entertainment. Ruth Amsel serves as showrunner and Lillard is also an executive producer.
