Prime Video Order Thriller Series “56 Days”

Prime Video has ordered a new series, “Obsession,” based on the best-selling novel “56 Days,” to premiere worldwide. The show is a crime story and psychological thriller with a unique narrative.

Prime Video has commissioned a new series called “Obsession” from the production company Atomic Monster, headed by executive producer James Wan. The series will be based on the novel “56 Days” by Catherine Ryan Howard and will be written and executive produced by Lisa Zwerling and Karyn Usher. The show is set to premiere exclusively on Prime Video in over 240 countries and territories worldwide.

“Obsession” will tell the story of Oliver and Ciara, whose whirlwind romance takes a dark turn when a homicide investigation is launched after an unidentified body is found in Oliver’s apartment 56 days after they first met. The series will delve into the twisted dynamics of their relationship, intercutting between the present investigation and the past events of their affair. While the novel is set against the backdrop of the COVID-19 pandemic, the series will not incorporate this setting.

The series will be written and executive produced by Lisa Zwerling and Karyn Usher, with additional executive producers including James Wan, Michael Clear, and Rob Hackett from Atomic Monster. Catherine Ryan Howard will serve as a co-executive producer. The series is a collaborative effort between Amazon MGM Studios and Atomic Monster.
