Prime Video has ordered Glitter and Greed: The Lisa Frank Story, a four-part documentary series that examines the cultural phenomenon and history of the iconic Lisa Frank brand. Directed by Arianna LaPenne, the series is produced by Sony Pictures Television’s Maxine Productions, the team behind the celebrated Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV.
This documentary will be exclusively available on Prime Video globally, presenting a detailed and comprehensive look at the brand’s rise, decline, and lasting legacy. With previously unseen footage and interviews with over twenty Lisa Frank insiders, enthusiasts, and journalists, the series aims to uncover the untold story behind the brand’s success and its less-known side.
“Lisa Frank’s signature rainbow-hued brand evokes core memories and nostalgia for generations of students – and yet there was so much more happening behind the scenes,” said Lauren Anderson, head of Brand and Content Innovation at Amazon MGM Studios.
Glitter and Greed: The Lisa Frank Story is executive produced by Mary Robertson, Lisa Kalikow, Eli Holzman, and Aaron Saidman, with Arianna LaPenne as director and co-executive producer.
