Prime Video’s “Expats” Limited Series Starring Nicole Kidman, Sets Premiere Date for January 26, 2024

Prime Video has announced the premiere date for their highly anticipated limited series, “Expats.” Directed by Lulu Wang and based on the best-selling novel “The Expatriates” by Janice Y. K. Lee, the six-part series will debut on January 26, 2024. The star-studded cast includes Nicole Kidman, Sarayu Blue, Ji-young Yoo, Brian Tee, and Jack Huston, with Kidman and Wang also serving as executive producers.
Set in 2014 Hong Kong, “Expats” follows the lives of three American women – Margaret (Nicole Kidman), Hilary (Sarayu Blue), and Mercy (Ji-young Yoo) – whose paths intersect after a sudden family tragedy. The series explores themes of privilege and examines the complex relationship between victimhood and culpability. Brian Tee and Jack Huston play the husbands of Margaret and Hilary, respectively.
Lulu Wang serves as the creator, director, and writer of “Expats,” and executive produces alongside Daniele Melia for Local Time. Nicole Kidman executive produces through Blossom Films, along with executive producers Alice Bell, Theresa Park, and Stan Wlodkowski. Vera Miao, Gursimran Sandhu, and author Janice Y. K. Lee also contributed to the writing of the series.
