Netflix has made an exciting announcement regarding its upcoming procedural medical drama series, Pulse. The show, created by Zoe Robyn and executive produced by Carlton Cuse, will mark Justina Machado’s first series regular role.
Pulse follows the lives of the dedicated staff at Miami’s busiest Level 1 Trauma Center as they navigate through intense medical emergencies. In the midst of this chaos, young ER doctor Dani Simms finds herself unexpectedly promoted to Chief Resident while dealing with the consequences of her own provocative romantic relationship.
The talented team behind Pulse includes showrunner and executive producer Carlton Cuse, known for his work on Lost and Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan. Zoe Robyn, who previously worked on The Equalizer, serves as the creator, showrunner, and executive producer of the series.
Joining the cast as a series regular is Justina Machado, renowned for her performance in The Horror Of Dolores Roach. Machado portrays “Natalie Cruz,” a brilliant doctor who not only oversees administration but also holds a pivotal role as the Chair of Surgery and Emergency Medicine. Her character brings both intelligence and political acumen to her position.
Kate Dennis, known for her work on The Handmaid’s Tale and New Amsterdam, takes on the role of director and executive producer for episodes 101 and 102 of Pulse.
Completing the list of executive producers are Bradley Gardner, Emma Forman, and Michael Klick. Their combined expertise ensures that Pulse will deliver compelling storytelling in each episode.
While Netflix has not yet announced a release date for Pulse, fans can anticipate an intriguing blend of medical drama and personal relationships in this highly-anticipated new series. Stay tuned for further updates as production progresses!
