“Race Across the World” returns to BBC One this Wednesday. Season 5 takes five daring duos on a grueling 14,000km race across Asia, armed with little more than their wits and a tightly restricted budget.
Starting at the iconic Great Wall of China and finishing in Kanniyakumari, India, the teams face a journey of epic proportions. With just over £1,000 per person for the entire trip, they’ll need to be resourceful, relying on local transport, bartering skills, and the kindness of strangers.
